The school year is quickly approaching and the summer will soon cease for another year. I am over joyed to be going to Avila. I'm going to be living in the dorms with 2 freshman girls. My next door neighbors happen to be people I attended high school with and I've heard our floor is quite BA. It should be a fantastic time. I'm involved in Campus Ministry and hopefully I can be apart of some other clubs as well. Below are a list of my classes none of which occur on Friday. Isn't being an Eagle amazing?

New hobby?
On Wednesday I suffered through another 7s practice filled with torturous running. All that work along with the heat causes a level of sweat that should be illegal. Despite how disgusting I felt, I met up with Kelsey Clary on the way home from practice. She being Kelsey said I looked adorable and I didn't smell awful (I did spray a large amount of perfume before entering Starbucks). What she didn't tell me was that she was with her friend Evan. Her witty, clever, and humorous friend Evan. And did I mention handsome?
Well I couldn't have been to horrendous because after Kelsey left Evan and I hung out and talked for a while. After getting a free cup of iced coffee (Yes I said FREE) we left Starbucks and headed for a new destination.
We decided to go on a little expedition, an expedition to a library and bookstore. Earlier that evening Evan had informed me of this habit he has...a habit of dumpster diving. At first I was quite unsure of what to think of this. He went on to explain that he is dumpster diving for books. Therefore, the dumpsters are actually those paper recycling bins and they are ONLY filled with books! How crazy awesome is that?!?! We went to half price books and gathered a small load of free books. It was one of the best nights I've ever experienced. I am excited to see more of Kelsey before she goes to UD and it wouldn't hurt to run into Evan a little bit either ;)

Lake Day
I finally made it to the lake!!!! Chrissy has had them just about every weekend and I always seem to be busy working, doing fundraisers, or church activities. BUT I finally made it last weekend. It was beautiful and so much fun. I rode a jetski for the first time in my life and that in and of itself was enough to make the day a win. It was quite relaxing and fun to hang out with the rugby girls...and then I had to leave early to work. I left in a great mood though =)
Noobs
Last Monday I had the pleasure to accompany Kristen and Alex Hermes to their first legitimate concert =) And what concert did we go to? Owl City of course! It was an amazing time. The day was looking slightly gloomy for more than one of us but this concert most certainly improved our moods. We ate dinner at Swagger before arriving at the show. Matt Kearny and Owl City were simply spectacular. I was surprised on how many Matt Kearny songs I actually knew (2 of them were featured on Grey's. Go figure). He was amazing with the crowd and at one point jumped in during one of his songs. It was quite a sight to see one of the moms scream like a 13 year old girl and practically run him over.
Owl city didn't disappoint either. I loved the instruments that were incorporated in this show. They included the cello, violin, drums, guitar, keyboard, piano, and I think even the xylophone at one point. We heard many of our old favorites along with some of their new material. Videos and pictures are below.
Matt Kearny

Introverts....

Coolest guest ever!

My favorite thing about Adam? He dances awkwardly =)

Quite possibly the best picture I have. It's currently my background on my phone

Her voice is so beautiful

My favorite part of the band =)

Warp Tour
I attended Warp Tour once again this year but in a different fashion. I worked the concert with the boys Rugby team. It was quite fun and extremely easy. I unknowingly broke a few rules, got a few autographs and some free/obnoxiously cheap merchandise ($5 skull candy headphones, $1 cd, ect). I also finished working just in time to enjoy Relient K, Hellogoodbye and Simple Plan. After the concerts I hit up Leavenworth and saw some people that I haven't seen since I left. Best thing about that? It was like we were always best friends. It was nice. These were people that witnessed the my biggest struggle and loved me despite it. It's crazy how tight a bond can be between some people. =)
Here is some music from the tour to enjoy.
(A dollar well spend)
(They did an acoustic performance that I heard while working at a nearby tent)
(there set was SOOO much fun. They came into the crowd a few times)
(I'm liking their new album. Another steal for only 5 dollars!)
(I'll always love this song)

Brandi Carlile
She isn't just a one hit wonder or at least she isn't in my world. This is one of her songs that I simply adore and of course it has been featured on Grey's as well as Pretty Little Liars. Enjoy

Great Expectations
"I loved her against reason, against promise, against peace, against hope, against happiness, against all discouragement that could be. Once for all; I loved her none the less because I knew it, and it had no more influence in restraining me, than if I had devoutly believed her to be human perfection."
Sometimes we do love against reason. Love is beautiful but the things that accompany it aren't always as beautiful: betrayal, broken promises, lies, sadness, pain. The trick is to find that person who will do their very best to not break your heart, to stand strong when things are hard, and to always, always love you and convey it.

New Chapters
My summer has been filled with joy. It is such a relief considering my last two summers I spent working and shut up in my room. I honestly tried my best to make last summer great or...at least good. It had it's ups and downs (too many to count) and mostly involved working 3 jobs, BUT I do have a few diamonds in the rut such as TEC, strengthening friendships that I think may just last forever (as well as lead me to Boston dying from too much snow in take. I'll be surround with coffee, books, antiques and the best music a store can hold). I got through it though (thank heavens!) and now I am on to opening new chapters in my life.
That isn't to say I haven't any struggles. I still live my life week by week and sometimes day by day. I don't have some grand scheme. I still am trying to live with some things of the past and plan my future all while living in the present. It isn't always easy but that's what friends are for right? To keep us here. It is so refreshing to have certain people in my life. People that are just completely honest and aren't afraid to tell you how it is even if it'll upset you and cause the worst case of passive aggressiveness you'll ever witnessed (I mentioned I'm passive aggressive right?). Well my dears I have just those people in my life. One has been here for a while (sometimes it feels like forever) and one is more recent and is slowly becoming my new best friend (it isn't facebook official yet ;) ).
The more recent addition to my life (Chrissy), has the worldest most beautiful dog (Jade), has a pink scooter (and matching helmet), and believes that everyone exists to make her life easier (not completely true, we just like to tease her). She is also the same person that convinced me attend my sister's graduation (even though my parents didn't go), and she went with me. Did I mention she dealt with my freak out the entire week leading to it? It went well, well as well as could be expected considering. She pushes me even when I dead terrified and when it all becomes too much we decide to go out and forget about the rest of the world. Quite nice actually.
My other amazing and quite flawed (joking!) best friend (Kristen) surprises me all the time. She recently gave the most amazing talk on our last TEC. She makes me laugh more than anyone else and fails terribly at returning my phone calls (okay maybe only this week). There aren't many people I could talk to for 2 hours (or 4 hours) on the phone. She definitely holds the record. When we aren't reading embarrassing things from our past, bantering, or being witty and charming we can be found nerding out and/or becoming obnoxiously competitive while playing the cow road trip game (MY COWS!!!) She isn't a new chapter in my life per say but our relationship can be considered new and improved.
Rugby is and will be (possibly forever) a major part of my life. I'll talk about it until my mouth is duct taped shut. It's currently off season for 15s but that doesn't mean it's on a sabbatical. Quite the contrary, 7s is going on right now and I have recently been talked into going to the practice ( I nearly died last Wednesday). That isn't it though. I'm quite busy putting fundraisers together to fund our team. We had board elections and I was nominated and voted into Fundraising Chair. =)
I've been reading obnoxious amount of books. Everything for Harry Potter to a book that is solely quotes to charming novels such as Love Walked In. It is the life let me tell you =) Who needs sleep when you have books (and Pretty Little Liars)
