TOB Retreat

A few weekends ago I had the opportunity to either go to Wayne State Rugby Tournament with Kstate. It would have been free gas as well as hotel. I instead decided to attend the Theology of Body Retreat many consisting of freshman girls and a few high school boys. I know what some people are thinking... You gave up a practically free weekend to hangout with highschool kids???!!! Yes I did. And I would do it again. These girls bring me such a sense of joy and peace that is impossible to describe. All I know is that I love them as though they are family and I would do anything for them despite the fact that they kept me up until 4am ;).

The retreat took place at the Roper's house which was quite exciting for me. I love their family and enjoy being with them. The original plan was to drive down there, eat dinner with them (Matt and I were in charge of spagetti), do Stations of the Cross by Tiki torch, camp out and do Adoration all night (we would all take turns). Unfortunately, the weather cancelled out the camp out and Adoration. It was still an awesome night though. Stations had never been down at night and it was quite an experience. I had to hold Annika's hand everytime we went over a bring because they made her nervous. We focused on some stress relief thinking and I think that helped her. We were able to still do our bonfire and smores which was a blast. It consisted of much conversing and singing christian songs. Most of us stayed the night at the Christys and we were up until 4am! I'm not sure how I managed to do that. We watched "How To Save A Life." It was such a beautiful production and brought many tears to my eyes. It resulted in me messaged an old friend, telling them how much I loved and missed them.

The next morning came too soon. We had a wonderful breakfast courtsey of Mrs. Christy. We packed up our gear and headed back to the Roper's. The day was filled of service and of course lunch. We redid all the kneelers, changing the blue ones to red and put together kneelers for the pews that lacked them. It was quite a project. It was rather simply but man staples hurt! Taylor and I fell victim to them a few times. I had to leave shortly after lunch and was unable to see the completed project. We all enjoyed our time together. It was a weekend well spent.

Musical Discover =)

Adele was featured on a recent Grey's Anatomy episode and surprise surprise she is Amazing! Her voice is so very beautiful and you can feel her emotions with every note. Here are some of her songs, including Someone Like You that was on Grey's.
And if you didn't catch the Musical Episode be sure to check it out on abc.com.
While some parts were slightly strange, I loved it. The music of Grey's has always been quite powerful. Favorites from seasons past were brought alive by the characters for an unforgetable episode.
